South Park Commons Apartment Complex Celebrates Grand Opening

South Park Commons, a new affordable apartment complex in Santa Rosa's South Park neighborhood, celebrated its grand opening today. The four-story complex provides 61 apartments reserved for residents living on 15-50% of the local Area Median Income, and 31 units reserved for permanent supportive housing for individuals and families who previously experienced homelessness. The City's support for the project included the investment of a City-owned parcel at Bennett Valley Road and Rutledge Avenue. Additionally, the Santa Rosa Housing Authority provided $5.8 million and 30 project-based housing vouchers to insure the long-term financial sustainability and affordability of the complex. State funding, loans from the Housing Authority and the Renewal Enterprise District (RED), and low-income housing tax credits all came together to make the project possible.

The four-story South Park Commons complex features a mix of studio to three-bedroom apartments, a community room, a courtyard with grills, and a children's play area and green space. Social services will be provided on site to all residents, and intensive case management will be provided to residents who previously experienced homelessness.
