CONGRESSMAN THOMPSON ANNOUNCES NEARLY $1 MILLION IN TALENT SEARCH FUNDING FOR MISSISSIPPI HBCUs

BOLTON, MS - Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (MS-02) today announced that the U. S. Department of Education has awarded three Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Mississippi's Second Congressional District a combined $992,477 through the Federal TRIO Talent Search Program.

The awards will support efforts at Jackson State University, Tougaloo College, and Alcorn State University to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds prepare for and pursue postsecondary education.
