House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail Available Substances to Hold Fourth Meeting in Waco

ATLANTA - The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail Available Substances, chaired by State Representative Rick Townsend (R-Brunswick), will hold its fourth meeting on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 9 a.m. at West Georgia Technical College in Waco, Ga.

During the meeting, study committee members will hear testimony and engage in discussion about youth vaping and nicotine use. Presentations will also address nicotine's addictive nature, trends in youth vaping and factors contributing to youth use, including the marketing and accessibility of these products.

The House Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Youth Exposure to Kratom and Retail-Available Substances will evaluate the impact of these products on minors to strengthen protections, reduce access and create healthier outcomes for Georgia's youth.
