SACRAMENTO, CA - Assemblymember Juan Carrillo (D-Palmdale) has been elected by his colleagues to serve as the next Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus.

Assemblymember Carrillo currently serves as Vice Chair of the Caucus. As Chair, he will help lead the Caucus in advancing the priorities and interests of Latino communities throughout California and strengthening their voice in the state Legislature.
"I am deeply honored and humbled by the trust my colleagues have placed in me to serve as Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus," said Assemblymember Juan Carrillo. "I was born in Mexico and came to this country with the hopes and aspirations of the American Dream. Through education, hard work, and a commitment to public service, I have had the opportunity to give back to the communities that shaped me. To now lead the Latino Caucus is an incredible honor and responsibility."

Assemblymember Carrillo will bring his experience representing the Inland Empire and High Desert to his statewide leadership role, working alongside legislators from across California to advance the priorities of Latino communities throughout the state. The region is among California's fastest-growing areas, with significant opportunities for economic development, education, housing, infrastructure, and investment. Its diverse communities reflect many of the opportunities and challenges facing Latino families throughout California.

"Our communities across California are diverse, but we share many of the same hopes and aspirations: the opportunity to build a better life, provide for our families, pursue an education, and create a stronger future for the next generation," said Carrillo. "My experience in the Inland Empire and High Desert has shaped how I approach public service, but as Chair, my responsibility is to every Latino community across California. I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure our communities are heard, our contributions are recognized, and our priorities are part of the conversation as we build California's future."

The California Latino Legislative Caucus is comprised of Latino members of the California Legislature who work collectively to advance policies and priorities affecting Latino Californians throughout the state.
