December 8, 2025, Peoria, IL - Over the weekend, Taylor D. Caldwell, 27, was charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old female. During Caldwell's detention hearing today, the State's request for detention was granted, and he will remain in custody until his trial.
On December 3, 2025, deputies took a report about a minor girl who had sexual contact with an adult male. The minor's mother reported that earlier that morning her daughter snuck out of the house, and when she got back home around 2 am, her daughter said she was with Caldwell.
A forensic interview was conducted at the Peoria County Child Advocacy Center. The minor disclosed that she had met Caldwell through a friend and had been communicating with him on Instagram. The night she snuck out, Caldwell picked her up and engaged in unlawful sexual contact with her.
On December 6, Caldwell was arrested. During an interview with deputies, he admitted to having sexual contact with the minor, and he knew she was only 14 years old.
