MWRD received the AWWA Water Treatment Plant Award from the Kentucky/Tennessee AWWA
Kentucky/Tennessee AWWA Water Treatment Plant Award - Large Plant (20 MGD or larger)
TheMurfreesboro Water Resource Department's Stones River Water Treatment Plantreceived the Large Plant Award from the Kentucky/Tennessee AWWA Conference on Tuesday, July 29th. The Large Plant Award is for a treatment plant producing 20 MGD or more and is only given for one facility in the state in which the conference is being held. This year's conference was held in Knoxville, TN. The award criteria include water quality, operation records, maintenance programs, professionalism, safety, emergency preparedness, use of innovative technology, plant and system security, and staffing. Also, the utility cannot have received a notice of violation in the past year (excluding CCR violations), they are not eligible for the award.
