Director - General of the Department of Information visits Nikkei Inc., Tokyo

On 13 May 2025, Mr. Nikorndej Balankura, Director - General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with his delegation, visited Nikkei Inc. headquarters in Tokyo, where he was received by Nikkei executives, led by Mr. Hidenaka Kato, Managing Executive Officer, Global Conferences, Ms. Sonoko Watanabe, Senior Consulting Executive Officer, International Partnerships, and Mr. Akito Tanaka, Editor-in-Chief of Nikkei Asia.

The Director - General received a briefing on the operations of Nikkei, a major media business group in Japan, and had discussions on Nikkei's wide-ranging collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the participation of H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, at 'Nikkei Forum: Future of Asia 2025' later this month and upcoming events that Nikkei plans to hold in Thailand. Both sides also exchanged views on current international issues, global and regional economic outlooks, and the direction and opportunities for Thailand's key economic sectors.
