Bain & Company Named as “a Leader” in the 2026 Gartner Magic QuadrantTM for the Finance Transformation Strategy Consulting Market

BOSTON - October 5, 2026 - Bain & Company, the global business consulting firm, has been recognized as a Leader in The 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for the Finance Transformation Strategy Consulting (FTSC) market.

Gartner defines finance transformation consulting as services that help CFOs and finance organizations craft strategies and roadmaps for business-aligned, forward-looking initiatives, supported by proprietary IP, frameworks and tools to drive execution and sustain momentum.

Gartner identifies a Leader as having the ability to "combine advanced strategic vision for the future of finance with the ability to execute complex transformation initiatives at scale. They help CFOs redesign finance operating models, modernize processes, strengthen data foundations, evolve workforce capabilities and adopt AI-enabled ways of working, while maintaining alignment with business objective" with the "balance of innovation, execution discipline and scalable delivery capabilities." According to Gartner, "Leaders distinguish themselves through investments in emerging capabilities such as AI enabled diagnostics, organizational scenario modeling, process intelligence and transformation planning."

"We believe that being recognized by Gartner as a Leader in Finance Transformation for the third consecutive time reflects the trust CFOs place in Bain to help them navigate one of the most consequential shifts in the Finance function's history," said Michael Heric, a New York-based Bain Partner who leads the firm's Global Finance solution. "The CFOs pulling ahead aren't just deploying AI, they're reimagining what finance is for - rethinking policies, processes, delivery model, technology and data, and talent together, not layering new technology on top of how things already work. That kind of change lives or dies on adoption, so we spend as much time on the change management as the redesign itself: bringing finance teams and business stakeholders along together, building the shared conviction and new ways of working that turn a reimagined finance function into one that actually moves the business."

Bain & Company has worked across more than 1,700 finance engagements, where its clients experienced strong financial results, with Bain-delivered programs yielding a 25-times return on the investment made, and typical savings of 20 to 40 percent achieved. The firm brings a full range of capabilities, including process redesign, shared services, capability sourcing, and change management to achieve goals.

According to Gartner, "The market for finance transformation consulting has evolved from discrete, strategy focused transformation programs to continuous finance modernization initiatives spanning operating model redesign, process transformation, data modernization, technology enablement and workforce evolution."
