New Round of Road Repairs Begin

The City will begin a new round of roadway improvements across various areas as part of its ongoing Pavement Management Program, with projects focusing on high-traffic streets. The initial concrete work (ADA ramps and curbs) began in August, with the asphalt work set to start in October. The repairs will focus on 74 lanes miles throughout the city.

Large-scale pavement rehabilitation projects include improvements in many areas:

The contracted work includes traffic-calming efforts at the following locations:

  • Cedar Road between Lonnie Street and Lewis Street
  • Greenbrier Drive between Grace Street and Greenbrier Drive
  • Division Street between Center Avenue and Grant Street
  • Loretta Street between Wynn Street and Kraft Street
  • Gardenia Street between Oleander Drive and Manzanita Drive
  • Cameo Drive between Marvin Street and Pamilla Del Oro.

Coming improvements include a variety of pavement treatments designed to improve ride quality and extend the lifespan of city streets, including asphalt grind and overlay, slurry seal applications, and other preventative pavement maintenance.

Construction will occur in phases, with crews returning to stripe roads last. Residents may experience temporary impacts such as lane closures or parking restrictions while crews work.

Maintaining streets is an ongoing effort and the Pavement Management Plan will continue to guide needed improvements. Measure X, the City's ½ cent sales tax has helped fund over $34M in road repairs since 2019.
