The Lebanon Valley Conservancy (TLVC) is hosting a golf tournament at the private, Audubon-certified, Lebanon Country Club on Monday, August 25. The tournament will be a scramble format and includes lunch, games and prizes, and a gift bag. Registration is 10:00 - 11:00 am, lunch is 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, the shotgun start will be at 12:00 pm, and awards and appetizers will follow around 4:30 pm. The Hershey Company is the main event sponsor.
This is the third consecutive year the Conservancy is hosting the tournament. "The event is a lot of fun and it's such a beautiful course. The fundraiser helps with our mission in the Lebanon Valley," shared Ron Birch, TLVC treasurer and event chair. "That includes land preservation, park projects, tree plantings, and environmental education," said Abigail Harvey, executive director of TLVC. "Protecting our land has become increasingly more important due to the fast-paced development in Lebanon County."
The event will be held at Lebanon Country Club, an Audubon-certified course, located at 3375 Oak Street in Lebanon. The club was awarded the designation of "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses, which provides information and guidance to help golf courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat, along with protecting natural resources. To achieve this status, the club worked on wildlife and habitat management, chemical reduction and safety, as well as water conservation and quality, case studies, and local outreach. "The Lebanon Country Club continues to be a great fit for us due to our similar preservation mindset," noted Birch.
Registration for the golf tournament is currently open and spaces are limited. The cost is $125 per golfer. Participants are encouraged to sign up as a foursome, although it's not required. "We still have several sponsorships available for any local organization or business interested in supporting our mission and local land preservation," added Harvey. Registration and sponsorship information is available on the Lebanon Valley Conservancy's website, www.TLVC.org, as well as their Facebook event page. Questions about the tournament or sponsorship
