Missouri Sex Offender Admits Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material

ST. LOUIS - A registered sex offender on Friday admitted viewing child sexual abuse material that he found online.

Corey Adam Oliver, 53, pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count of possession of child pornography. In December of 2024, a Cyber Tipline report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicated that Oliver had uploaded child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to Bing's image search application. On January 14, 2025, the Missouri State Highway Patrol obtained a search warrant for Oliver's home near Bismarck, in St. Francois County. In an interview with law enforcement, Oliver initially denied viewing or receiving CSAM. After he failed a consensual polygraph examination, he admitted using a tablet to do so.

Oliver was required to register as a sex offender after having been convicted in Louisiana in 2000 of the felony offenses of molestation of a juvenile and carnal knowledge of a juvenile and in Georgia in 2007 of the felony offenses of enticing a child for indecent purposes and interference with child custody.

Oliver is scheduled to be sentenced in January. The U.S. Attorney's office will recommend 15 years in prison, followed by a lifetime on supervised release.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson prosecuted the case.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys' Offices and the Department of Justice Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
