MUPD hosting free personal safety courses open to students, faculty and staff

The Marquette University Police Department is hosting its next free Self-Defense and Personal Security Awareness training classes the week of March 16 at the Wellness + Helfaer Recreation facility.

Self-Defense class is open to female and male participants and is scheduled for Monday, March 16, at 4 p.m. in the Blue Studio. The class uniquely combines a hands-on approach to learning effective techniques with information about the latest national and local crime trends. Registration is available online.

Personal Security Awareness training class is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, at 4 p.m. in the W+R conference room. This class reviews the steps you can take to limit exposure to personal and environmental security risks. Registration is available online.

MUPD regularly offers several free safety classes throughout the semester to students, faculty and staff. Be proactive with your personal safety by signing up for these classes to learn new skills and tips.
