Budrys: The Nordic-Baltic region is united by shared values, trust, and close cooperationActivities of the Minister of Foreign AffairsMultilateral RelationsNews of the Ministry

On 8 June, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys participated in the celebration of the national days of the Nordic-Baltic countries. The Minister welcomed the region's strong unity and increasingly close cooperation in areas ranging from foreign policy and security to economy, technology, and innovation.

When addressing the participants of the event, the Minister underlined that the Nordic and Baltic countries are bound by
shared values and that their national history and traditions are closely intertwined.

"Our region is often described as reserved. Perhaps this is why much of our cooperation works so well - not thanks to long speeches, but to clear agreements. The Nordic and Baltic states are increasingly seen as a single area. Not only due to geopolitics or common security, but also to shared values and principles of functioning", said the Minister.

Budrys emphasized that this is reflected in the growing coordination of foreign policy, leadership in support of Ukraine, close economic and technological ties, and free movement of ideas, talents, and solutions among the countries of the region.
