Windhorst Reminds Farmers and Ag Haulers: Applications for Hauling Permits Now Open

September 4, 2025

METROPOLIS, IL - State Representative Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) is reminding farmers and agricultural transporters across Southern Illinois that applications are now open for permits for the harvest and hauling season via the Illinois Transportation Automated Permits (ITAP) system.

"As harvest season gets underway, it is important that farmers and ag haulers take advantage of these permits to help them get their crops from the field to the market more efficiently," Windhorst said. "The Illinois Department of Transportation is now accepting applications, and I encourage those who will be hauling during the harvest season to apply as soon as possible."

Windhorst expressed his appreciation for the agricultural community as the harvest season begins.

"I want to thank our farmers and ag haulers for their hard work and long hours during this busy season," Windhorst said. "Agriculture is the backbone of our economy here in Southern Illinois, and I am proud to support our farm families in every way possible."
