WASHINGTON (September 9, 2025) - The American Hospital Association (AHA) has elected Eric Fish, MD, MBA, FACOG, President and CEO of Schneck in Seymour, Ind., to fill a vacancy on its Board of Trustees for a term effective immediately and ending Dec. 31, 2026. The Board of Trustees is the highest policymaking body of the AHA and has ultimate authority for the governance and management of its direction and finances.

"I look forward to working alongside dedicated leaders from across the country to help shape policies and strategies that support hospitals, health systems, and the communities we serve."
Schneck Medical Center, a non-profit acute care hospital, has been a cornerstone of innovative health care in southern Indiana for over a century. Founded in 1911, Schneck has grown into a nationally recognized regional health system serving communities across southern Indiana. The hospital has earned multiple Magnet® designations for nursing excellence and received the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, reflecting its commitment to clinical excellence, compassionate care, and community impact.
Dr. Fish became President and CEO of Schneck Medical Center in September 2020, following his long-standing commitment to the organization since joining in 2005. In 2006, he founded Schneck Obstetrics & Gynecology, further advancing women's health services in the region. Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Fish brings both clinical expertise and strategic leadership to his role. As President and CEO, he oversees Schneck Medical Center and its expansive network of 24 specialty practices, nearly 200 providers, and more than 1,200 dedicated team members.
Dr. Fish serves on the AHA's Regional Policy Board 5 and has held numerous leadership roles with the Indiana Hospital Association. His commitment to community and statewide development is reflected in his service on several boards, including the Boys and Girls Club of Seymour, the Community Foundation of Jackson County, the Indiana Rural Health Association, Jackson County Ambulance Authority, Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation, JC Bank Board of Directors, and SIHO Holdings, Inc. Board of Directors. These roles underscore his dedication to advancing health care, economic growth, and community well-being across Indiana.
Dr. Fish earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in Bloomington, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a bachelor's degree from the University of Evansville in Indiana. His diverse educational background reflects a strong foundation in both clinical practice and health care leadership.
