Human Resources’ Coffee and Connect starts Oct. 14 with open house

HR Coffee and Connect offers casual in-person and virtual opportunities for faculty and staff to connect with members of Human Resources and Workforce Strategy (HR).

This year, Coffee and Connect is being reimagined with different formats, locations and times designed to reach more employees. Each event will feature timely HR updates and opportunities for intentional conversation, networking and learning about HR programs and resources.

Topics may include compensation, benefits and perks, recruiting and hiring, career development and coaching, new employee orientation and engagement, workplace support and conflict resolution. Employees are encouraged to stop by an in-person event or join virtually to meet an HR team member, ask questions and learn more about available resources.

Oct. 14

HR Open House
Location: University Plaza, Suite 100

  • Tour HR's offices in University Plaza and enjoy cookies, punch and coffee.
  • Meet HR team members and ask general questions.
  • Learn about the professional staff classification and compensation study, total compensation statements, the Employee Experience Survey and annual employee evaluations.
  • Visit the HR office by walking, biking or taking the Boise State shuttle's Green Route. Limited guest parking is available.

Nov. 11

Location: Albertsons Library, The Commons, second floor

  • Meet HR team members and ask general questions.
  • Learn more about payroll and processing, holiday pay and preparing for winter break.

Dec. 1

Location: virtual

  • Lunchtime Zoom session to drop in anytime to ask general questions.
  • Connect with an HR team member in a breakout room for a brief, one-on-one conversation when appropriate.
  • Learn about performance management, evaluation season and policy updates.

Jan. 20

Location: University Plaza, Suite 100

  • Meet HR team members and ask general questions.
  • Learn about personal and professional development, onboarding and orientation, W2s, years of service data and recruiting and hiring.
  • Visit the HR office by walking, biking or taking the Boise State shuttle's Green Route. Limited guest parking is available.

Feb. 11

Location: Albertsons Library, The Commons, second floor

  • Bring your lunch and meet HR team members and ask general questions.
  • Learn about upcoming mandatory training, benefits and wellness resources, Shared Leadership and timely spring HR updates.

March 9

Location: University Plaza, Suite 100

  • Meet HR team members and ask general questions.
  • Learn about Change in Employee Compensation, employee data analytics, upcoming Open Enrollment and professional development opportunities.
  • Visit the HR office by walking, biking or taking the Boise State shuttle's Green Route. Limited guest parking is available.

April 14

Location: Virtual

  • Meet HR team members and ask general questions.
  • Learn about preparing for summer hiring, the professional staff classification and compensation study, onboarding new employees and other timely HR updates.
