Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming Visits the Pointe Michel Playing Field

On February 5, H.E.Chu Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica, paid a site visit to the Pointe Michel Playing Field in Soufriere and spoke to the GIS. Ambassador Chu was joined by Hon. Denise Charles Pemberton, Minister for Tourism, and Senator Hon. Oscar George, Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development, with specific responsibility for Youth and Sports.

Ambassador Chu was briefed on the project's planning and construction progress and engaged in a friendly exchange with local residents. When he spoke, he outlined China's 15th Five-Year Plan, reviewed the highlights of China's economic performance in 2025 and the positive momentum in China-Dominica relations, and expressed China's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Dominica on community development projects. He noted that more small and smart programs will be implemented to deliver tangible benefits and strengthen the bond between the two peoples.

Minister Pemberton expressed appreciation for China's significant assistance and support to the project and pledged to ensure its efficient implementation for the benefit of the local community at the earliest opportunity.
