During September's Life Insurance Awareness Month

For the Eighth Consecutive Year Five $15,000 Scholarships Given to Students Who Lost a Parent Without Life Insurance

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Sept. 2, 2025 - The Pacific Life Foundation (the Foundation) has awarded five $15,000 college scholarships through Life Happens (https://www.LifeHappens.org) and its annual Life Lessons Scholarship Program to aid the financial burden of students who have lost a parent without life insurance. The scholarships are part of September's Life Insurance Awareness Month, designed to educate individuals on the importance and benefits of life insurance. Scholarship recipients include from Esther B., Destiny D., and Bette Mae P. from California; Gisel R. from Nebraska; and Sara B. from Virigina.

"Losing a parent is unimaginable, especially when children are faced with new and overwhelming financial responsibilities," said Tennyson Oyler, president of the Pacific Life Foundation. "These students' stories showcase their resilience and strength and resonate deeply with Pacific Life and its employees. We are proud to support the Life Lessons Scholarship Program that highlights the vital role life insurance plays in protecting families' financial security."

To date, the Foundation has provided more than $600,000 in college scholarships through Life Happens. This year, more than 220 Pacific Life employees participated in the review of hundreds of scholarship applications.
