Molino Library, Community Center to Temporarily Close for Repairs

The Molino Library and Community Center, located at 6450-A Highway 95-A, will be temporarily closed to the public starting Saturday, Sept. 19 while crews repair and restore the hardwood floors inside the building.

Work is expected to be completed by Saturday, Sept. 26, with the library and community center reopening to the public Monday, Sept. 28. All other amenities will remain open while the work is being completed.

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners approved the project at the July 23 BCC meeting, which includes repairing and restoring the building's antique heart pine floor. The project will extend the service life of the original flooring, enhance the appearance of the interior, and help preserve the historic character of the community center. The project was funded by the one-cent Local Option Sales Tax, or L.O.S.T., which generates revenue for capital projects and infrastructure needs for Escambia County.
