Lake Berryessa enforcing special restrictions at boat launches to prevent golden mussels

NAPA, Calif. - Effective immediately, Reclamation will enforce special restrictions to launch vessels at Lake Berryessa's boat ramps to prevent the spread of golden mussels. The invasive species was recently identified in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and is the first known occurrence of golden mussels in North America. The species pose a significant immediate threat to the ecological health of the Delta and all waters of the state, water conveyance systems, infrastructure, and water quality.

Capell Cove Boat Launch is temporarily closed for all vessel launching with exception of a groups in possession of a Special Event Permit. All other boat launches will remain open during advertised hours of operation. All vessels visiting Lake Berryessa from invasive mussel infested waterbodies, including the Delta, must certify that they have been cleaned, drained, and dried for 30 days prior, or decontaminated.
