Protocol Outreach Project in Phuket

On 4-5 February 2026, Mr. Chakkrid Krachaiwong, Director-General of the Department of Protocol, led a delegation to Phuket Province to conduct "Protocol Outreach Project." The project aimed to enhance confidence among diplomatic missions, consular posts, and international organizations in Thailand's various regions, as well as introduce the new protocol facilitation system, known as e-Protocol, which is currently under development to cover all mandates of the Department of Protocol and will be launched soon.

The Director-General and the delegation held discussions and exchanged views with career consuls from 4 countries and honorary consuls representing 24 countries based in Phuket Province. The delegation also paid a courtesy call on VDC. General Adul Chuthong, Vice Governor of Phuket Province, and conducted a briefing session to provide relevant provincial authorities with an overview of the roles and responsibilities of the Department of Protocol in the area of diplomatic affairs. The implementation of the outreach project enabled the Department of Protocol to directly receive feedback, concerns, and recommendations from consular representatives in the area, thereby strengthening mutual understanding and confidence in the work of Thai government agencies and enhancing coordination with provincial authorities. The project received positive feedback from consular representatives and reflected the Department of Protocol's success in proactively building cooperation networks, as well as in further developing the facilitation of diplomatic and consular privileges and immunities in a tangible and effective manner.
