Fatal Crash on West Gate City Boulevard
GREENSBORO, NC (September 26, 2026) - Greensboro Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on West Gate City Boulevard.
GPD officers, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS responded to the collision at approximately 9:54 p.m. Friday at the intersection of West Gate City Boulevard and West Meadowview Road.
Pierre Twaibu, 28, of Greensboro, was driving a Volkswagen Tiguan east on West Gate City Boulevard when he drove left of center, ran off the road and struck Ramiro Juarez-Calat, 34, of Greensboro. Mr. Juarez-Calat died at the scene from his injuries.
Twaibu sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. He was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, driving left of center, and a seatbelt violation.
The Greensboro Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
