Gaydos Begins Fourth Term in State House, Focuses on Building on Legislative Success

HARRISBURG - Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) was sworn in on Tuesday to begin her fourth term representing the 44th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
"I am truly grateful to the residents of the 44th District for their continued trust and support," said Gaydos. "Serving as your voice in Harrisburg is an honor, and I am committed to building on the progress we have made together."
During the last legislative session, Gaydos spearheaded several initiatives that garnered statewide attention. Most notably, she authored legislation that was signed into law as Act 77 of 2024, addressing critical issues in the pharmaceutical industry and providing much-needed protections for independent pharmacies and their customers. Additionally, her House Bill 589, which would establish an insurance program for homeowners in landslide-prone areas, passed the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee.
"These legislative milestones reflect my dedication to addressing the real challenges Pennsylvanians face," said Gaydos. "In this term, I'll continue to champion transparency in government, economic growth, and financial stability for families and businesses. Together, we can create opportunities and foster a brighter future for all."
In addition, Gaydos will serve on the House Liquor Control, Commerce, Finance and Professional Licensure committees for the 2025-26 legislative session. She has also been assigned to serve on the newly formed House Communication and Technology Committee. Currently, Gaydos is the chair of the House Life Sciences Caucus, a member of the House Cancer Caucus and the House Cyber Security Caucus.
