Local and regional artists delve into the malleable and expressive qualities of additive sculpture in a new exhibition at the Bath House Cultural Center.

From Fragments to Form: Explorations in Sculptural Constructions

On display at the Bath House Cultural Center July 5-August 9, 2025

Dallas - The Bath House Cultural Center presents From Fragments to Form: Explorations in Sculptural Constructions, an exhibition featuring sixteen artists from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Waco. A reception with the artists will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

From Fragments to Form: Explorations in Sculptural Construction showcases the creative diversity of three-dimensional media through the work of sixteen Texas artists from the DFW and Waco area. The artists delve into the malleable and expressive qualities of sculpture in an exhibition that demonstrates the medium's potential for creative transformation and innovation. The exhibition highlights personal and evocative artworks crafted using techniques such as assemblage, found objects, ceramics, and other sculptural practices. Each piece reflects the additive nature of sculptural construction, emphasizing the boundless possibilities inherent in the creative process. The pieces in the show display a rich interplay of materials and forms, celebrating the transformative potential of sculpture.

The exhibition not only celebrates the multiplicity of media and techniques employed by the participating artists but also features a wide range of ideas, concepts, thematic studies, and conceptual approaches. Each artist brings a unique vision to the exhibition, offering visitors an eclectic mix of perspectives that explore both the tangible and intangible. This dynamic variety ensures a captivating and engaging experience, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the rich interplay of form, material, and meaning.

The exhibition features artwork by Vasfie Abderafi, Henry Aschner, Rita Barnard, Ben Gus, Lisa Huffaker, Roberta Masciarelli, T.C. Oliver, Ivette Ramos Levy, Todd Smith, Janice Somerville, Joaquin Soto, Elise Techentine, Samuel Torres, Jose Vargas, Terri Wilder, and Vladimir Zúñiga.

Enrique Fernández Cervantes curated the exhibition.

Gallery viewing hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 12 PM to 6 PM. The center is open until 10 PM on nights with theater performances.
