SAFE ARRIVAL OF 23 MALAYSIAN PARTICIPANTS

OF THE GLOBAL SUMUD FLOTILLA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to confirm the safe arrival of all 23 Malaysian participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission in Malaysia. The group landed safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, 7 October 2025, at 10.07 p.m. (Malaysian time). The Ministry confirms that all Malaysians are safe and in good health.

Upon their arrival, the participants were warmly received by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan, representing the Prime Minister, together with Minister of Communications, Minister of Education, Chief Minister of Selangor, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs, Mufti of Federal Territory, Ambassador of Türkiye, Chargé d'Affaires of Palestine, Chief Secretary to the Government and senior government officials.

Malaysia once again expresses its deepest appreciation to the Government of Türkiye for its pivotal facilitation and support in ensuring the swift and safe return of the detained Malaysians. The Ministry also extends its gratitude to the Governments of Jordan, Egypt, the United States, and ASEAN countries with a presence in Tel Aviv for their valuable assistance in ensuring the safe return of our citizens.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Ankara, Consulate General of Malaysia in Istanbul, and Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai also played an important role in assisting the return process and ensuring the well-being of the Malaysian participants throughout their transit and repatriation arrangements.

The Ministry is also closely monitoring another flotilla under the banner of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) and Thousand Madleens to Gaza, which is currently en route to Gaza carrying nine Malaysian activists. The mission seeks to challenge the illegal blockade and deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

All Malaysian diplomatic missions in the region have been placed on full alert and instructed to maintain close monitoring of this mission. Necessary measures are being prepared to address any eventuality, including the possibility of detention by the Israeli regime.

Malaysia will continue to work closely with partner countries to ensure that the safety and rights of its citizens are protected at all times.
