Sonoma County Department of Agriculture, Weights & Measures Proposes Fee Changes Effective 07.01.2026

Published: March 09, 2026

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors are conducting consolidated fee hearings on March 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Chambers located at 575 Administration Drive in Santa Rosa. The Department of Agriculture/Weights & Measures is proposing fee increases for the Agriculture, Land Stewardship, and Weights & Measures divisions.

To determine FY 2026-27 fees, the Department developed and utilized a method consistent with previous fee studies to calculate costs to provide services. The Department is requesting, on average, a three percent increase in fees for FY 2026-27 to cover the increases as determined by the internal departmental fee analysis. Where the three percent increase does not reach full cost recovery, the Department will implement a phased approach of three percent increases over the next three to five years.

The proposed fee scheduled is attached. Should the Board of Supervisors adopt these proposed fees, they would become effective July 1, 2026.
