Sentencing Held on a 2022 Murder Case

June 14, 2025, Peoria, IL - Yesterday, Lamarion Wright, 19, was sentenced to 40 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for the murder of Christopher L. Tilman. In September 2022, officers responded to a shooting in the 600 block of NE Adams. Upon arrival, they found Tilman, who had been shot four times: three times in the back and once in the right arm. He later died at the hospital from his injuries.

During the investigation, officers obtained surveillance footage that captured the shooting, showing Wright holding a gun, running after Tilman, and shooting him.

At the time of the murder, Wright was 16 years old and was automatically charged as an adult. In November 2024, he pleaded guilty to the murder.
