Jasper County - A project to replace two (2) bridges in Jasper County, one on Route H over Duval Creek west of Jasper and the other on Route BB over Stony Branch northeast of Carthage, is scheduled to begin the week of March 23, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Both new bridges will be slightly larger than the ones being replaced. In addition, contractor crews will add new barrier walls to either side of the bridges and new pavement striping.
The contractor will begin on the Route H/Duval Creek bridge beginning the week of March 23 and two weeks later work is scheduled to begin on the Route BB/Stony Branch bridge.
Traffic Impacts:
Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.
The Route BB bridge was built in 1967 with approximately 620 vehicles a day crossing it. The Route H bridge was built in 1933 and has approximately 275 vehicles per day traveling over it. Both bridges are in a deteriorating condition in need of frequent maintenance.
