Contractors: Renew County and Journeyman licenses by Sept. 30

Pinellas County contractors are reminded to complete their County and Journeyman annual license renewals through the Pinellas County Access Portal before Sept. 30 to avoid late fees of up to $225.

All outstanding fine payments and insurance certificate updates must be handled directly through the online portal. Working with an expired registration is unlicensed contracting, carrying penalties starting at $500.

Key Renewal Guidelines:

Portal Only: All transactions and submissions must go through the Pinellas County Access Portal. Staff cannot process renewals via phone or email. Pinellas County will never request payments through email, wire transfer or apps like Zelle and Venmo.

Insurance Compliance: Certificates must list the exact DBA name matching the official registration record. Certificate holder addresses must list the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board at 440 Court Street, 1st Floor, Clearwater, FL 33756. Out-of-state workers' compensation policies must state "Valid in Florida," and waterfront contractors must show valid USL&H insurance.

Outstanding Balances: All outstanding fines, fees and citations must be paid prior to submitting a renewal.

Contractors can check their registration status online using the Contractor Search feature on pcclb.com. Contact the licensing team at 727-582-3100 (select Option 2 for Licensing or Option 3 for Insurance) or email [email protected] for more information.
