Milling and Resurfacing on Route 8 Northbound in various towns in Connecticut

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and a 1" thin surface treatment will continue on Route 8 northbound in Thomaston, Litchfield, and Harwinton. The milling has already occurred which was scheduled to start on Thursday, September 24 and completed on Friday, September 25, 2026. The 1" thin surface treatment is scheduled to start on Thursday, October 8 and be completed on Friday, October 23, 2026. This project includes an 8.35-mile segment of Route 8 from Fenn Road overpass to Route 118 overpass (including ramps).

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating Traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
