MEDIA RELEASE: Most City Departments Closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (December 24 & 25)
The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Christmas holiday Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25.
Most City departments will be closed those days. The following City services will operate as indicated:
- Fire Department - Administrative and Fire Marshal's offices closed. Responding to emergencies.

Library - Both locations of the Library closed Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25.
- Police Department - Administrative offices closed. Responding to emergencies. Non-emergency calls can be directed to 319-286-5491.

Solid Waste & Recycling - Administrative offices closed. There will be no garbage, recycling, yard waste or loose-leaf vacuum collection on Christmas Day, December 25. Thursday and Friday customers will experience a one-day delay in collection this week.

Transit - No Transit service Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25.

Reduced Service - No Peak Bus Service (1P, 2P, 6P, 7P, 8P, 11P) on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24.
