As a regulator, we work across multiple sectors and industries, routinely applying our expertise in areas that might be new or unfamiliar to us, but that are 'hot topics' of interest for business and New Zealanders. One of those areas is artificial intelligence, or AI.

Dr John Small, Chair of the Commission and other key Competition and Consumer Protection personnel took the audience through their thoughts on the potential impact of AI here in New Zealand, concerns around the use of AI that have been identified globally, and the Commission's approach to these concerns, as regulator.
