HONOLULU - The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) announces a phased construction project to replace the loading dock and boat ramp at Oʻahu's Kahana Bay starting Tuesday, September 8.
A new aluminum-framed dock with plastic lumber fenders and fiberglass decking will take the place of the existing damaged and condemned wooden loading dock. The project will also address the existing boat ramp concrete panels that have eroded over time and need replacing.
Due to anticipated weather conditions in the bay, the contractor, Sea Engineering, Inc., will install the loading dock first, from September 8 to October 16. Construction will resume in Feb. 2027 for the installation of the boat ramp when weather conditions for in-water work are safer. This phase of the project is expected to be completed in May 2027.
The entire boat ramp facility will be closed from September 8 to 11 for the delivery and staging of materials. During construction periods for the loading dock and boat ramp work, the Kāneʻohe side of the facility, including the ramp, will be fenced off and closed.
