Cherokee Nation to celebrate grand opening of Sallisaw Child Development Center

Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Deputy Chief Bryan Warner and other Cherokee leaders will gather with Sallisaw community members to celebrate the grand opening of the Sallisaw Child Development Center.

SALLISAW, Okla. - Cherokee Nation leaders will gather with Sallisaw community members for the grand opening of the Sallisaw Child Development Center.

The Sallisaw Child Development Center is more than 32,000 square-foot and will serve over 100 kids, ranging in ages from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The building includes more than 10 classrooms, two large play areas, classroom pods, a kitchen and more.

The completion of the Sallisaw CDC, which is a $24 million dollar investment from the tribe, has added more than 50 jobs in the Sallisaw community.

Currently, the tribe also runs Child Development Center's in Tahlequah, Stilwell, Pryor and constructing one in Catoosa.
