Construction Activity Prompts Sullivan SR 93 Closure

Motorists traveling on State Route 93 in Sullivan County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will affect traffic.

Beginning at noon on Wednesday, May 27, and ending at 6 p.m. that same day, State Route 93 will be temporarily closed between Murrell Road and State Route 347 (Lone Star Road/Mill Creek Road) as blasting will take place near the roadway. Local traffic will be permitted after blasting activities, but southbound traffic will be directed to take the detour route along State Route 347 to Derby Drive.

As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for their destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel.
