Stadium Drive to Close for Summer Steam Tunnel Construction
To further enhance the efficiency and reliability of the campus steam loop, The University of Toledo will begin excavation for a new at-grade tunnel along Stadium Drive from Monday, May 4, through Thursday, Nov. 19.
The tunnel and sidewalk will run adjacent to the road, beginning at the Student Recreation Center crosswalk and terminating at the entrance to Area 5.
During construction, two-way traffic on Stadium Drive will be closed from the intersection of Stadium Drive and South Glass Bowl Drive to the entrances of Areas 5 and 10.
The road is scheduled to reopen on Friday, Aug. 21, with final completion of the project expected by Thursday, Nov. 19.
