WVU Extension to celebrate agritourism, launch new network to support industry

WHAT:The West Virginia Agritourism Initiative, a statewide effort led by West Virginia University Extension, will be celebrated at an event that will also include the debut of the Naturally, West Virginia network and website.

The two groups work in partnership to strengthen local businesses, preserve Appalachian heritage and share the state's diverse, authentic farm experiences with visitors.

WHO: Dee Singh-Knights, WVU Extension agricultural economics specialist; representatives from Martin Hall Agency, a student-run advertising and public relations agency housed within the WVU College of Creative Arts and Media; farmers, agritourism operators, business owners and community leaders

WHEN: Monday, Dec. 8, 12:30-3 p.m.

WHERE: Evansdale Crossing, 4th Floor, 62 Morrill Way, Morgantown

NOTES:Attendees will enjoy farm-to-finger foods, networking and conversations about how West Virginia's farms, vineyards, markets and destinations are shaping a new era of rural tourism.
