Marion Lifts Winter Storm Parking Restriction

Winter Storm Parking Restrictions Lifted
City crews have completed snow removal operations in Marion. Crews will continue to monitor areas prone to blowing and drifting. The on-street parking ban for all city streets has been lifted and on-street parking can resume. The ban was in place to minimize the hazards associated with snow removal operations and provide a more efficient response.

Residential Snow Removal
Marion City code requires that property owners maintain their sidewalks and any snow and ice shall be cleared within 36 hours of the snowfall ending. Residents are reminded that pushing snow from private property, sidewalks or driveways onto the traveled way of a street or across the street is prohibited.

Garbage/Recycling Collection Delayed
Garbage/recycling collection is delayed by one day all week due to the weather. Garbage/recycling collection will happen instead from Tuesday through Saturday the week of March 16.

Adopt-A-Hydrant
Residents and business owners are asked to keep fire hydrants closest to homes and businesses clear of snow. It is best to have a 3-foot clearance on all sides of the hydrant. Significant snow accumulation and drifts can hide fire hydrants, making them impossible to find quickly in an emergency.
