Annual Slurry Seal Project Continues with Work Beginning in October

Bellflower's annual slurry seal project is continuing throughout the City, with additional pavement maintenance scheduled during the week of Oct. 5 at the following locations:

• Thompson Park: The parking lot parallel to Bellflower Boulevard and the smaller lot leading to the swing gate will be completed in phases to maintain partial parking access.
• Simms Park: Work will affect the back parking lot west of Ardmore Avenue.
• Caruthers Park: The entire parking lot will receive slurry seal treatment.
• Riverview Park: The parking lot south of Somerset Boulevard will receive slurry seal treatment.
• Library Gardens: The parking areas south of Flower Street and Civic Center Drive will receive slurry seal treatment.
• City Parking Lots: The lots east of Bellflower Boulevard between Oak Street and Belmont Street, east of Bellflower Boulevard and north of Flower Street, and at 9826 Artesia Boulevard are scheduled for slurry seal treatment.

Exact closure dates for each location are still being finalized. Residents and park visitors are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate parking when necessary and observe all posted construction signage.

These improvements are part of the City's larger annual slurry seal project, which is also bringing temporary closures to residential streets throughout Bellflower. Because slurry seal work requires streets to remain clear while crews complete treatment, individual streets may experience half-day or full-day closures.
