OTCC Draft Rules - Call For Public Comment
The Occupational Therapy Compact Commission (OTCC) is in the process of establishing nationwide interstate licensure for occupational therapy practitioners. Currently, 28 states, including Alabama, are already compact members with current Legislation enacted to adopt the OTCC rules and regulations.
The OTCC Executive and Rules Committees have published draft versions of proposed rules that are open for public comments and feedback. More information on the proposed rules can be found at the website homepage https://otcompact.gov/ .
If you are interested in receiving compact licensure through the OTCC, there are actionable next steps you can take:
Ø The OTCC Executive and Rules Committees have published draft versions of proposed rules NOW OPEN for the public comment period from January 13, 2025 until February 14, 2025.
Ø The OTCC's draft rules are available online from their website at the link HERE:https://otcompact.gov/ot-compact-commission/rulemaking/
(instructions to submit comments are provided in the proposed draft rules).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy * is a separate licensing/regulatory entity unaffiliated with the Occupational Therapy Compact Commission and its process of creating/establishing regulatory requirements, rules, bylaws, and practice standards for national interstate licensure.
* This state board (with regards to statewide statutes that Alabama licensees must abide by), along with the other OTCC member state boards, work in conjunction with the OTCC during this process.
