No. 25 Grand Valley finds itself in unfamiliar territory as it enters this weekend's game against Wayne State. The Lakers travel to Detroit to face the Warriors on November 1 at Tom Adams Field. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
After consecutive losses to Saginaw Valley and rival Ferris State, the Lakers (4-3, 2-2 GLIAC) sit at fifth place in the conference standings, a half-game behind Davenport, with three games remaining in the regular season.
The back-to-back defeats mark Grand Valley's first consecutive losses since 2019, when it dropped games to Ferris State and Wayne State to close out that season.
While the Lakers are looking to regroup, Wayne State (0-8, 0-4 GLIAC) is still searching for its first win of the season.
The Warriors rank last in the conference in several key offensive categories, including scoring offense (11.4 points per game), total offense (203.8 yards per game) and rushing offense (46.6 yards per game).
Grand Valley is 20-1 in the all-time series, with the Warriors' 2019 win its only victory over the Lakers.
