Stacy Garrity Plays to an Audience of One
Since launching her campaign for governor, only one thing has been on Stacy Garrity's mind: Donald Trump. Throughout her campaign, Garrity has aligned herself with the President more tightly than ever, doubling down on putting his interests over what's best for Pennsylvania.
To make it clear exactly where her focus is, earlier this week, Garrity wholeheartedly endorsed Trump's demand to slash the extension of ACA tax credits, which has forced more than 120,000 Pennsylvanians to drop their health insurance. In new reporting, Garrity was revealed to have said that it was "absolutely the right thing to do" for Congressional Republicans to let health care costs more than double this year, saying she has "100% confidence" that Trump and Republicans are "going down the right path" on health care.
New reporting from the Philadelphia Inquirer also details just how cozy Garrity has gotten with Trump, showcasing her unequivocal support for his disastrous policies that are driving up costs across the state. As the Inquirer put it, Garrity "ardently backed Trump, often going out of her way to voice support for his political decisions that have little to do with her job as the state's top fiscal watchdog."
But it was Garrity's trip down to Mar-a-Lago this week that was the cherry on top of her relentless dedication to putting Donald Trump's interests first. On the trip, the self-described "Chump for Trump" Garrity cozied up to failed Pennsylvania Senate candidate Dr. Oz and other MAGA allies in what was clearly a show of support for her commitment to reiterating that "we know that [Trump] won" the 2020 election.
"As prices continue to skyrocket on everything from gas to groceries, Stacy Garrity is still lining up behind Trump, even as it's costing Pennsylvanians," said DGA spokesperson Izzi Levy. "At every turn Trump's disastrous agenda is driving up health care costs and making life worse - and Garrity is right there with him at Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring. Hardworking families across the Commonwealth won't forget that in November."
