FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 2, 2026) - Today, at the Kroger store at Franklin Square in Frankfort, First Lady Britainy Beshear, Gov. Andy Beshear, and Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman invited Team Kentucky to Shop & Share this Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help support survivors of domestic violence.
Participating grocery stores, lists of most-needed items in each region and volunteer information can be found at ZeroV.org/ShopandShare.
"Shop & Share is easy to participate in - it's all in the name. At your local grocery store, shop for what you need and share items with your regional domestic violence shelter. Volunteers will be on site to help - and they'll have lists of what supplies are needed most," Mrs. Beshear said. "Survivors who seek help at our domestic violence shelters have taken such a brave step for themselves and their families. Through Shop & Share, we can ensure that when they arrive at a shelter, they have everyday essentials. Because we know that, more often than not, families fleeing for their lives don't have much more than the clothes on their backs. Let's wrap our arms around these survivors and show them our love and support by making this the most successful Shop & Share yet."
"Shop & Share is about what Team Kentucky does best: We take care of our people," said Gov. Beshear. "Together, we can be there for survivors of domestic violence as they heal and move forward. Thank you to our amazing First Lady and our partners at ZeroV and Kroger, who make this event a success every year."
"I am thrilled to once again participate in Shop & Share," said Lt. Gov. Coleman. "Stopping domestic violence is everyone's responsibility, and the simple act of going to the grocery store for this event is a way we can all help."
Each year, the First Lady partners with ZeroV to host this one-day donation drive on the Saturday before the Super Bowl. While Kentuckians shop at select Kroger, Family Dollar, Food City, IGA, Pennington's Foodfair, Save A Lot and Walmart locations, as well as local grocery stores, they can also purchase items to share with survivors.
The annual Shop & Share drive will provide critical supplies for the commonwealth's state-designated regional domestic violence shelter programs. Volunteers will be on-site with lists of what items are most needed in each region - such as food, diapers and other essentials. Once Kentuckians check out, they can leave those items with the volunteers who will deliver them to the local domestic violence shelter.
Since former First Lady Jane Beshear established Shop & Share in 2008, the annual event has raised more than $6 million in monetary and in-kind donations and has made a positive impact in the lives of thousands of survivors. In 2025, the event raised over $349,000 in monetary and in-kind donations. Last year, Kentucky's domestic violence shelters housed more than 2,300 people.
ZeroV is the statewide coalition against intimate partner violence. Its 15 member programs serve survivors of intimate partner violence and their children in all 120 Kentucky counties. Donations from Shop & Share offset pantry expenses and increase the program's capacity to provide services to survivors.
"Survivors are more than just the harm they've endured; they are everyday Kentuckians, just like you and me," said Tisha Pletcher, CEO of ZeroV. "Unfortunately, isolation is a common tactic used by abusive partners to maintain power and control over survivors and their children, often leading to survivors feeling like outsiders in their own communities. This is why Shop & Share is so impactful for survivors as they heal from abuse: It reminds them that they belong and that they are believed. Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps instill the empowerment, dignity and hope that survivors and their children need to thrive, serving as a comforting reminder that they are not alone."
"At Kroger, our purpose is to Feed the Human Spirit, and that means standing with our communities when they need us most," said Josh Harpole, president of Kroger's Louisville Division. "Through Shop & Share, we're proud to partner with ZeroV to help provide essential resources for survivors of domestic violence and the shelters that support them, while encouraging our customers to make a meaningful difference for neighbors across Kentucky."
