Marquette recognized among top institutions for career prep

Marquette was one of only 15 colleges and universities nationally recognized by Town & Country and IvyWise for excellence in career services, real-world learning experiences, and strong outcomes for graduates. The recognition highlights institutions that demonstrate early and sustained career preparation, as well as high rates of job placement and graduate school enrollment.

The publication specifically noted the impact of Marquette's Lemonis Center for Student Success, which opened in fall 2024. Made possible by a $15 million gift from alumnus Marcus Lemonis, the center brings academic advising, career development, mentorship and diversity resources together in a coordinated, student-centered space designed to support undergraduates throughout their academic journey.

Career advising at the Lemonis Center emphasizes continuity, guiding students from their earliest academic decisions through internships and into full-time roles. This approach reflects Marquette's Catholic, Jesuit mission, prioritizing purpose-driven education and holistic student development. The center also lowers financial barriers to experiential learning through targeted funding that enables students to pursue unpaid internships in fields such as public service, government and the arts.

Additionally, the center's peer-led Ask Me Desk creates an accessible entry point for students navigating campus resources, encouraging early and ongoing engagement with support services, particularly for students who are first-generation or new to the college experience.

More information on the Lemonis Center and its services is available online.
