H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, this afternoon received a courtesy call from H.E. Russell Mmiso Dlamini, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of #Eswatini, on the margins of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU on Conflict Prevention & Resolution in Africa, taking place in Luanda, #Angola.
Prime Minister Dlamini conveyed to the Chairperson a message of solidarity from His Majesty King Mswati III, reaffirming the Kingdom of Eswatini's commitment to supporting the AU's efforts towards the peaceful prevention & resolution of conflicts across the continent. He underscored Eswatini's readiness to work closely with the AU in advancing this shared objective.
In his message, His Majesty King Mswati III called for enhanced cooperation & coordination among the AU, the Southern African Development Community (@SADC_News), the UN & other relevant stakeholders to promote coherent & effective approaches to conflict prevention, management & resolution.
Chairperson Youssouf expressed his appreciation for the message of solidarity & paid tribute to His Majesty King Mswati III for his leadership & continued commitment to peace & stability on the continent. He commended the Kingdom of Eswatini for its contribution to the promotion of peace & stability & welcomed its readiness to strengthen cooperation with the AU.
The Chairperson assured the Prime Minister that the proposals conveyed by His Majesty would receive due consideration, noting that they were fully consistent with & complementary to the mandate & objectives of the AU. He further expressed appreciation for the important role played by SADC in advancing regional development, peace, security & preventive diplomacy.
