It was who found the back of the cage first for the Panthers, starting a four goal slide that saw the visitors take a 4-3 lead. Adelphi managed to stretch its lead with another strike from Bauco in the early going of the second, but the home team stormed back with a pair of tallies to make it a tie game once more. The Panther defense was challenged on several possessions, as the Hawks used nearly all of the shot clock before scoring.

It was the visitors that again worked out to a two-goal lead, but the Hawks were not going down without a fight. Heading into the final 15 of regulation, the game was knotted at 10-all.
The fourth quarter saw a pair of goals from either side, but the most important one for Saint Anselm falling after 59 minutes of regulation passed by. After two shots by the Hawk offense, Chris Claflin finally got past Renner, scoring with two seconds left on the scoreboard to force overtime.
Adelphi lost the opening faceoff of the OT frame, but another huge stop between the pipes for Renner sent the ball down field. From his back, Bower tossed a shot to Durnin who was essentially one on one with Granara and the rest is history.
Durnin, and were named to the All-Championship Team, as Lewis also earned the coveted MVP trophy for his four-point performance.
