Contact:

Oʻahu motorists are asked to plan accordingly for increased traffic starting Monday, January 12, especially in the morning hours, as the spring 2025 semester begins for University of Hawaiʻi students at six campuses.

The area around UH Mānoa, including both directions of the H1 Freeway and the surrounding surface streets, is expected to see the largest increase in traffic as classes start for about 20,000 students.

The other UH campuses are Leeward Community College, Kapiʻolani Community College, Honolulu Community College, UH West Oʻahu and Windward Community College.

Normally, traffic is heavier for the first two weeks of the semester.

UH encourages students, faculty, staff and administration to consider alternative modes of transportation including The Bus, the Skyline rail system, as well as bicycling, walking, etc. for those who are able.

UH thanks the members of the public for their patience.
