Today is Election Day

For Immediate Release
February 17, 2026

Today is primary Election Day in Madison. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Bring an ID

Several types of ID are acceptable, including a current Wisconsin Driver's License.

Not registered to vote? That's okay.

You can register at the polls. Bring acceptable proof of address; a poll worker will review your documents and if sufficient, you will be provided a ballot.

Provisional ballots

A voter who is not able to provide an acceptable form of ID will be given a provisional ballot. For their ballot to be counted, a provisional voter will need to bring their ID for review to the City of Madison Clerk's Office by the Friday after Election Day.
