Chairwoman McClain to Democrats: Stop Letting Criminals Steal Taxpayer Dollars

Earlier this year, Vice President Vance's anti-fraud task force led the charge to suspend 447 hospices and 23 home health agencies tied to more than $600 million in suspected fraud.

That was in Los Angeles-one city!-alone.

Think about that. Think about the hundreds of families that have lost a loved one and later find out they were SCAMMED.

Then they find out their loved one wasn't receiving the care they we supposed to-and the services they were paying for.

Think about the devastation of those families. This is more common than you'd think.

There are hundreds of operations exploiting vulnerable patients and their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

That's why House Republicans are fighting fraud.

We are working to protect taxpayer dollars and root out abuse. That's common sense. You know what's crazy? Democrats vote to protect criminal fraudsters.

And every single Democrat voted to raise your taxes.

Let me say that again: Every. Single. Democrat. Voted to raise your taxes.

They didn't vote to stop fraud. They didn't vote to protect taxpayers. They voted to take more money from hardworking Americans.

Meanwhile, Republicans continue finding and rooting out the waste, fraud, and abuse already buried in the system.

In California, one fraudster, Paul Richard Randall, recently pleaded guilty to submitting nearly $270 million in fraudulent Medicaid claims for medically unnecessary prescription drugs-many of which were never even provided to patients.

He took advantage of a temporary loophole in the system, flooding Medicaid with fraudulent claims and pocketing millions of taxpayer dollars. Now, he faces up to 30 years behind bars for ripping off Americans.

That's theft. That's stealing from taxpayers. That's stealing from vulnerable Americans. And it's stealing from every family that expects these programs to actually help the people they're designed to serve.

Republicans believe taxpayer dollars should go to patients-not fraudsters.

That's why we're exposing these schemes, holding criminals accountable, and protecting taxpayer dollars. That's why this week we will vote on legislation to crackdown fraud in our government. Because before Democrats in Washington ask Americans for another dollar, they should stop letting criminals steal the dollars Americans have already sent.
