The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, will make an official visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (March 30) and to Namibia (March 31).
During meetings in Kinshasa and Windhoek, the Brazilian foreign minister will address key issues on the bilateral agenda, such as technical cooperation, defense, and environmental affairs, as well as the promotion of trade and investment. At the multilateral and regional levels, discussions will focus on strengthening the South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone-whose presidency Brazil will assume during the 9th ZOPACAS Ministerial Meeting (Rio de Janeiro, April 8-9). Other topics addressed will include reform of global governance and the United Nations and challenges regarding peace, security, and climate change.
The visits take place in the context of growing trade exchange between Brazil and African countries, which has increased by around 13.3% over the past three years.
